So the last post covered a short period over a long post. I’m going to try to do the opposite this time.

Recovering from the first day, spent whole day in room sleeping and finally woke up and ordered some terrific indian delivery.

This morning (afternoon) when we went out, we visited the Lower East Side/East Village for what pretty much all reviews call the city’s best smoked salmon at Russ and Daughters.

Had tickets for tonight’s show of Evil Dead: The Musical, so we went to Kmart to get some cheap clothes as we had second row center seats in the “splatter zone” If you’re not sure what that means, we’ll tell you later. Read the rest of this entry »

We haven’t seen Jack Bauer yet, but it’s felt like a season-long adventure. There’s just so much to take in all at once. We’ve seen so much culture and diversity in a short period of time, it’s almost overwhelming.

Our flight was delayed an hour because of weather conditions at LGA. Weather conditions between ATL and there weren’t so hot either. Haven’t felt that much turbulence since Brad left Jen for that chick from Hackers. Finally made it to the city, but we have a 30 minute delay before we landed. And we land. And we have another 20 minute delay before the gate is open.

By the time we get our luggage and get out the door, we figure we’ll just hail a cab and head to the hotel. Not quite. There’s a taxi stand so we head toward the light. We then realize the line of people beside us weren’t just waiting. They were waiting for the same taxi stand. Another 30 minutes. We finally deciphered the address for the taxi driver, and were on our way.

The taxi ride wasn’t as exciting as hoped - riding with Adam is more of a thrill ride, honestly. We arrived at the hotel without event, just a little traffic and rain (are you sure we’re not still in Atlanta?) Read the rest of this entry »

Both of us want to thank everyone for their attendance and warm wishes on our happiest day! It really means a lot to us to share such a joyous and life-changing event with those closest to our hearts.

To those of you who were unable to join us, know that we missed you all dearly and that we felt your presence in spirit.

We will post pictures as soon as we can - we hope to be able to keep up while we enjoy our long-needed vacation!

We will be staying at the Fairfield Inn (see Accomodations) which is directly across the street from Anthony’s after the celebration.

We have a photographer arranged, but if anyone has a video camera and wouldn’t mind taking some footage, please bring it as we do not have a videographer and would love to have some of the memories in full color and sound.

Our clothes are here, the flowers are arranged, the menu is planned, the tickets are booked, the hotels are reserved, the music is handled, the decorations picked, the cake designed, the officiant is official, is there anything left?

Everything is coming together beautifully - we thank everyone for all the love and support so far! Your messages mean so much, and we truly look forward to seeing everyone and sharing our celebration with those closest to our lives.

We will miss all of you who are unable to attend, but we understand the short notice makes it difficult to plan. We will have everyone in our thoughts during the celebration, and know that pictures will be posted and mailed ASAP!

No jitters yet - the stress levels will rapidly elevate, I’m sure.

As we only request the presence of our closest friends and family to celebrate our love, we still understand everyone’s desire to provide useful and personalized gifts.

As previously mentioned, the most helpful would be contributions to our honeymoon in New York.

If you are of a creative nature (unlike us), handmade gifts can be some of the most personal and meaningful gestures. Even if you’re not creative (like us), anything unique or that just screams “adam&lydia” would be really cool too :)

Additional suggestions include gift certificates for those everyday things - sundries (Target, Walgreen’s, Amazon), groceries (Whole Foods, Publix, Kroger) Gas (QuikTrip, BP), and restaurants (we’re not picky, obviously - I like Italian, Adam is fond of Mexican, but we’re wide open. If you have a favorite, we’d love to try it!)

Less than 2 weeks!

The RSVP system is now up, please type your code into the yellow box in the upper right and let us know if you can make it.

Edit: Yes, we know the requested response date is today, but as we’re still mailing the final batch out we’ll give you a little more time. ;) We just have to get the final count to Anthony’s the week before the wedding. If you have any questions about the RSVP system or anything at all - please email us!

Love you all!

We’re going to be spending two glorious weeks in the fashion, culture, and pretty-much-everything-else capital of the US. (In case that wasn’t clear, we’re heading to New York City.)

As we’ll be there over Thanksgiving, we’ll try to wave at everyone from the parade. Yeah, we get up that early. To stand in the cold. For several hours.

Adam’s never been and I’ve never been outside a group, so it should be both interesting and exciting for both of us. And in the middle of November, probably pretty chilly as well.

We’ll be staying at two different boutique hotels while we’re there, situated in different areas of Manhattan to get as much of the full experience as possible.

Everyone is curious as to our gift registry. Actually, everyone is curious as to our lack of registry. We truly and greatly appreciate everyone’s interest in providing the things that we want and need!

We honestly and sincerely wish for no more than your presence; do not feel any obligations and know that we appreciate your time and contributions to our past, present, and future lives.

But to answer the original question, there really aren’t many things we’re lacking, so we haven’t registered anywhere. However, if you’d like to provide a small donation to our wedding & honeymoon fund, it definitely won’t be turned away.

Love always,

adam&lydia
